Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body needs at rest to maintain vital functions like breathing, circulation, and cell production.
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is your BMR multiplied by an activity factor. It estimates the total calories you burn per day based on your lifestyle.
For men: BMR = 10 Γ weight (kg) + 6.25 Γ height (cm) - 5 Γ age (years) + 5
For women: BMR = 10 Γ weight (kg) + 6.25 Γ height (cm) - 5 Γ age (years) - 161
TDEE = BMR Γ Activity Factor
Activity Factors:
- Sedentary (little or no exercise): 1.2
- Lightly active (1β3 days/week): 1.375
- Moderately active (3β5 days/week): 1.55
